Corporal Jeffrey Allen Williams

Corporal Jeffrey Allen Williams, a combat medic of the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, was killed in combat on Sept. 5, 2005, at Tal Afar, Iraq. Corporal Williams, 20, of Warrenville, IL, (formerly of Kansas City, Kansas) was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for his actions and service in Iraq.

Through our previous service in the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment with Colonel H.R. McMaster and Command Sergeant Major William Burns, we learned of the outstanding needs for assistance to pay family members' travel costs to attend the home fort memorial services of soldiers killed in action. The Second Dragoons Foundation quickly took a vote and decided to provide funding to help fly 9 members of Corporal Williams' family to and from the service at Fort Carson, Colorado (the 3rd ACR's home fort).

Troopers like Corporal Williams are a tribute to the nation and the Second Dragoons Foundation is glad to be a part of honoring his service.
